Also Specht Designs (where I got the wood accents) instillation video is misleading af when it comes to installing the paddle panel. They just yank it off but really you have to take apart the entire machine. Talked to customer service and even they said to take apart the entire machine… No wonder la marzocco only makes a wood kit for the Mini and not the Micra

    Edit: You just need to update the 3d printed units on top to wood accents so they all match.

    That looks really nice actually. I would totally keep it. The wood accents give it a touch of elegance IMO.

    I see what you mean with the gold. But I also think you need the whole paddle part to be in wood to be able to judge properly.

    I personally hate the wood accents so many put on their machines. But the one time I mentioned it on this reddit, I got torched…..

    Completely off topic, but I didn’t know these things could reproduce on their own. (The two baby Micras on top). Mine arrives tomorrow, and we’ll be sure to have a serious chat about no funny business in my kitchen.

    If you are going to spend $1100 on premium wood accents, you might as well spend an extra $100 to get the walnut which matches the wood grain on your tamper

    I’m getting mine from Sprecht as well. Are these the Walnut or the Oak?

    I was at La Marzocco last weekend and they told me they were coming. So maybe stay tuned?

    Personally, I would just sand it and use a darker stain or an accelerator and then a sealer. Without taking the machine apart, a few layers of tape.

    Does the micra kit have a replacement for the black piece? I feel like if you get that installed, it’ll look and feel complete. I know someone who also the same color/wood combination on the mini (with that other piece) and it looks great!

    The wood looks great, but I would swap out the black base for the brew paddle. That’s probably what is letting the overall look down.
