No. It’s saidaa which is a non-alcoholic juice drink.

No. Alcoholic drinks have “アルコール xx%” written somewhere, and alcoholic drinks often have the word “これはお酒です”, “お酒は二十歳になってから”, “アルコール” or “お酒” written somewhere.

Back in ancient history, the first fizzy drink to gain popularity in Japan was apple juice cider. From that, Japanese borrowed and still uses the term サイダー/_saidaa_ to mean sweet fizzy lemony or fruity non-alcoholic drinks, with no relation to apple juice. Japanese would call Sprite a saidaa.

The alcoholic apple cider we refer to as cider is relatively unknown, but when available is called シードル/_shiidoru_, borrowing from _cidre_.

This always causes confusion, even Google Translate probably won’t indicate the distinction.

Add 7 grams of yeast and 100g of sugar or so and wait a week or two and it will probably be! :3
