Folks get mislabeled plants from nurseries all the time. I had a few jalapeños turn into yellow lemon drop peppers. Someone mixed up the J and L labels. it happens.
Good news is your plants look very healthy and whatever that pepper is, I bet it is delicious.

Where I live these are grown on purpose, look up “gogoșari” in romanian. I ordered some seeds for this type of pepper, and the english instructions only say “bell pepper” so I assume there isn’t a direct equivalent translation for this particular variety. They are usually sweeter, and the flesh is thicker than regular peppers, which makes them great for preserving in sauce or pickling. Depending on the type of seed, you might want to keep them as far away as possible from your hot peppers as they cross polinate quite easily and can turn reaaally spicy (if you’re planning to save seeds).
ETA: I looked them up and the english translation indeed is “romanian bell pepper” so I guess it is a variety cultivated only in Eastern Europe that somehow made its way to Florida. They’re tasty, enjoy! 🙂

Could be the variety of pepper. I grew some from Hungary or Italy (I can’t remember for sure) that were really squatty like that. Tasty though
