The pic makes it look better than it is. Once again, should have trusted my gut with taking out of the oven but damn it’s tasty. Pic looks med rare to me but it’s really more of a med. I love this sub

Not surprised. Pregnant women need steaks well cooked, so it’s not a risk to their pregnancy.

She just has an aversion to meat today 😞

  3. DeWin1970

My younger cousin made everyone in the house give up cooking meat in the house, the smell made her very nauseous while pregnant.

  4. FYI – it’s recommended for women to eat meat more on the well done side

  5. ExtensionFan7849

Well you aren’t supposed to eat that while pregnant so I don’t blame her.

  6. IAmRobertoSanchez

She’s right. I mean; I’d eat it, but she’s always right.

This might be a dumb question but why would rare steaks or really anything that wouldn’t be harmful to the mother be harmful to the baby that’s not even close to being born?

  8. Pregnant woman should be eating more well done steak anyway just safer and their appetite can change pretty rapidly but enjoy your steak OP and congrats but next time you cook her a steak 145 internal temp for her

A quick question from a newbie… why does everyone seem to pre-slice their steaks? Doesn’t it go cold faster? What’s wrong with just cutting and eating it like you would any other piece of food?

Dude I’m 24 weeks pregnant and my mouth is drooling. Now I need a steak.

Enjoy your extra steak and make her a pickle and peanutbutter sandwich

I had a steak aversion with all 3 pregnancies. Lasted the entire 9 months. It was awful! Just give her some grace, and understand it’s really something that’s just out of her control for now.

Red meat was my biggest craving while pregnant. Burgers and steak had never before or since tasted so fucking good.

My Dr never had me change my diet much other than limiting caffeine and cutting out alcohol. Still ate sushi, cold cuts, med/med rare beef, soft cheeses, etc. But I understand different doctors and cultures will have different opinions on the topic.

Why didn’t we just grill some for a minute or two ?

  15. ASSMANWILLIE

What the big deal? More for you! Make her something else.

  16. Uce_Almighty111

Just one of them pregnancy things were she craves things out of the ordinary and doesn’t like things she normally loves!

I’d be like “more for me then” while of course making/going to buy her something she has cravings for

  17. Last time she got your beef it led to the pregnancy, maybe that’s why she is hesitant this time around.

  18. Dirtrdmagician11

Looks like someone else in the house gets to eat for two tonight.

  19. Pretty_Education1173

Something is off here…one steak, for both of you? I’m calling bs😅

  20. ChiefSquattingEagle

Eat it yourself… make what she wants… be nice…. Get laid?

  21. yo_momma88

Tell her the baby wants and needs it, it’s yummy

As a pregnant wife, this is what I’ve been craving ;( my husband is not good at cooking meat

  23. Fabulous-Fun-9673

As an avid steak lover, I turned down steaks as perfect as this while I was pregnant too. Trust me when I say it’s not personal. I also ugly cried and caused a scene in a Chik-FIL-A because they didn’t put pickles on my sandwich… pregnancy is weird man 🤷‍♀️

  24. Frosty-Reporter7518

Then that’s really unfortunate, looks beautifully cooked. Perhaps an avocado would be a more desirable option for her?

  25. Artistic-Effort9672

Food smells very different to women when they are pregnant too. Smell of certain things would make my wife sick that she regularly ate beforehand.

  26. 1). Trade in for non-pregnant version.
    2). Repeat process.
    3). ???
    4). Profit (Hopefully…)

    Your version is clearly outdated.

I had major meat aversions in my first trimester and some lasted all the way through. My husband cooked steak for a nice dinner with his mom before we told anyone, and I had to choke it down to avoid the obvious announcement. It was actually the worst thing ever.

Your wife probably wants to want it, but, alas, the pregnant body will always win, lol. Looks delicious, OP. 😋
