Some folks on this sub treat pasta like bread, or maybe like a separate carbs dish to which they add protein in top.

Go you consistent ride! If you want a really easy fun pasta dish, sometimes when I come home late from the pub and have a lamb shoulder (or even leg) in the fridge, I leave it in the oven around 100c until the morning, make a bunch of papardelle, put a bunch of tomatoes and herbs in with the meat which will now be soft as a roasted baby, and away you go! A dollop of something dairy will thicken it a little bit too as it cools!

    That looks super delicious 😋!

    I’d eat that.

Yeah, it’s not traditional, and it’s probably a very heavy sauce, but it’s not like the person who made it called it a carbonara, or something it isn’t.

Plus, unlike the usual “chicken alfredo” types we see around here from time to time, it doesn’t look dry AF with gloopy sauce dumped on top of boiled plain pasta.
