Paid $71 for a stale waffle, an open faced sandwich and 2 drinks.
The waffle I know for a fact was reheated because I was sitting at the counter close to the door so I saw the lady pick it up from under the bar with her bare hands, throw it into the waffle maker and left it there while preparing everything else. The cut one waffle square diagonally to make it a sandwich with equally stale bacon and then doused it with butter and syrup.
The salmon fume was good but it was mostly eggs and a couple slices of smoked salmon.
Never been more disappointed by a brunch spot. While the waitstaff are great and attentive, the food. In our opinion was just not worth it. The lemonade was $11. Smh
After here we walked a couple blocks to Edith’s and got a slushie and a bfast sandwich.

This is sad to read. Unfortunately, I think people go to Buvette due to its aesthetic and insta/tiktok postability. The food is fine. The soft scramble under your salmon doesnt look awful.
Totally not worth waiting in line. Would be an okay option if you could just walk in for the croque
I gotta say, those look like some properly scrambled eggs. There are few things worse to eat than overcooked, rubbery scrambled eggs
Love Buvette but they’re definitely overwhelmed for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is surprisingly good though
I’ve been telling anyone who would listen that this place isn’t mediocre, it’s just bad… They make such basic food for it to be this bad. I struggled to finish the croque monsieur.
To this day I honestly do not understand paying the crazy prices for brunch. It’s basically eggs and pancakes/waffles. People are just…I guess whatever. And yes I know about the bottomless drinks stupidity but that’s likely a separate topic/issue.
I went to buvette last fall as a treat and was totally underwhelmed. I ordered orange juice and I think it was $11… I get they have WV rent to pay, but this is another level. Didn’t have to wait because I went at an off time, but it was not a great experience. I got a salad and the dressing was the best part. Lettuce was limp, chicken was sad, and there wasn’t much more to it.
It’s also super uncomfortable, albeit pretty in there. I am affirmed in what I value after that experience and will take my business elsewhere. Sucks to feel blatantly ripped off though
I had lunch at the sister restaurant Via Carota the other week and the food was also very mediocre at best. I remember back in like 2016 or 2017 Buvette was great, sad to see it suck. I think the owner just over expanded (Tokyo, Paris) and lost what made it special.
I would have returned the waffle for another dish or asked to be made fresh. They should make it right. Sometimes you need to speak up.
The French toast used to be very good at least…
Looks like quality has dropped or you’ve had terrible luck
Looks terrible
I just went to Buvette a weekend or two ago, and the food servings are SO tiny, even compared to when I went last time, maybe a year ago.
I still love the French toast here. Not been there for a long time though. Soon I have to go back.
Did you mention to the staff?
Went here recently and got one of the worst steaks of my life. The space was comically cramped like every other WV spot. The escargot was good though.
That’s a bummer. I’ve never had anything but great experiences at Buvette, for brunch or dinner.
