Recently went to 1 starred The Samuel, located slightly north of Copenhagen.
Chef Jonathan Berntsen previously ran 1 starred Clou, also in Copenhagen.
The Samuel is slightly atypical modern day fine dining. Located in a beautiful renovated villa from 1891, the tasting menu “only” consists of 7 courses and doesn’t have any amuse bouche or petit fours.
The cooking is classic French but with bold interpretations and flavors, such as a dessert on sheep cheese ice cream, with dark chocolate, hot olive oil, tomatoes and thyme.
The quenelles on langoustine were exceptional and can also be ordered a la carte. Worth having on your list for Copenhagen, in case you want a different experience with excellent service from Maitre D, Rasmus.
Menu is 2000 kr – €270

I had a truly special night here in 2021. Perhaps my favorite wine pairing ever. Love this place.
Creamy Lobster Cappuccino sounds interesting!
It’s one of the hidden gems in Copenhagen!
