Is there a lore reason why onion rings are so fucking sweet and flavorful and crunchy and perfect?

Because onions are amazing to begin with yet like a lot of foods are even better when battered or breaded and fried.

The batter gets steamed from the inside out with onion juice

It’s explained in certain versions of the bible but most were destroyed to protect the secret and countless lives lost in the process.

All was well for 1800 years. In the early 1800’s, onion rings were invented for all to enjoy thus rendering the prior bloodshed a shameless waste

The only remaining copies of this bible version are rumored to be held by the illuminati. If you never hear from me again, share my truth far and wide

There’s a barbecue place near me that used to have an “onion loaf” appetizer; it was an actual loaf of onion rings.

They closed a while back and reopened; I don’t know if they still have it.

I personally think the universe is a crispy-onionring-shaped thingy

It’s weird that I love onions but not onion rings. It makes no sense. I wish I could appreciate them.

The lore reason is to tempt us lesser beings into indulging in them. Onions are my “forbidden fruit”. I love onions, onion rings, and all forms of onion, but the gas that I get is so unbelievably bad I have actually cleared rooms. Worst way to go through middle school btw

Some places use a thinned pancake batter and/or add malt powder to the batter for that sweetness.
