What is your go to fertiliser? And is this any good?
I need to order some more fertiliser, in your opinion, what is the best fertiliser on the market for peppers? Preferably one containing trace elements needed for peppers. Also is this Chilli Focus any good? Cheers 🤙

I’d say most fertilizers that market directly to one crop generally aren’t the “best”. Theres not really a best fertilizer and depends what growing medium you are using (soil, coco or peat based). I like worm castings , fish hydrolysate , and compost teas. Chili guru says plants best uptake a ratio of 3-2-1 or 1:1:1 so something balanced or as close to that ratio should be good, lots of added calcium and magnesium.

Honestly, just some cheap stuff from Aldi. 8-5-8 with a bunch of micro nutrients I don’t understand lol. Works fine.

I use a few drops of that stuff in water to clone my tomatoes, probably would bother with it for hydro set up I would go something cheaper

I’m currently trialing it. To see how goes with my chillies.

GT used to be my go to for hydroponics. Don’t get me wrong it’s a solid choice for peppers. If I had to recommend a safe bet for nutrients they are.
But powder is so much cheaper and it would have been too expensive to stick with any pre made liquid brand.
Edit: Any powdered nutrients that has a balanced NPK. Usually calcium is separate for the stuff I buy.

Something like miraclegro before fruit is set, just a generic fertiliser. And something like tomorite once fruit has set, a generic tomato feed. They’re easily available in most supermarkets and do a great job.

Define: “The best”. Is the best the one that has the most complete NPK + micronutes, is the best the one that gives you the most chili’s or is the best the one that’s most affordable with decent results? Chili focus is a complete and optimized nutrient solution for chili’s, and it’s great for a small grower, like if you have 1-20 plants this stuff is just perfect! It is however not “bang for buck”, as you’re basically paying for a watered down solution of a professional greenhouse solution. If you are a professional grower, You would take up “Yara white brand” and combine it with “Yara Calcinit” so you’ll get a 2 part A + B fertilizer, it is the most complete and also the best bang for buck, you are however stuck with 25kg bags of fertilizers enough to make thousands of liters of feed, so this is only suitable for a professional setting with a drip system or something similar, I’ve used it with autopots. Nowadays I only keep around 6 plants using the autopot easy 2 grow system with a 47L water vat. I use bio potting soil now and I mix 30-50grams of bio DCM tomato minigranules into the potting soil. These granules or slow release with almost the exact NPK as Chili Focus, with added calcium, magnesium and microbes. I water top down for 2 weeks, then let the autopot bottom water. I’ve used this formula for years and this is what works for me. I fertilize twice per growing season, beginning of May, and the ending of June.
To summarize:
– Small grower: Chili focus is perfect, just not bang for buck.
– Big growers: Use professional A + B nutrients like Yara white + calcinit
– Small growers that don’t want to bother with measuring nutes, PH but just want to add water: Use a pelleted or minigran fertilizer and mix it into the soil. Ideally your NPK would be around 3-1-5 + Calcium + magnesium. I use DCM tomato fertilizer.

That depends on your climate, soil and water qualities. I use this.

Chilli Focus is expensive boutique liquid fertilizer for hobby growers.
I make comfrey tea for the flowering stage, free and works great
Once they start flowering normal tomato feed is as good as anything.
