heads up for all the girlies, since this dish seems to be getting really popular lately: though it’s often written sogan, the Turkish word for onion is actually soğan, with a “soft g”, which has the strange effect that you basically don’t say it. So rather than “soh-gone”, it’s pronounced something like “soh-ahn”. Impress your friends with your knowledge!
