Newbie here! From my post yesterday, mostly everyone said my radishes were ready to harvest; this is what I got. They don’t look perfect but I’ll know better for next time. Are you supposed to feel this proud 🥺🫶🏽

They look great! And more importantly, I’m sure they were delicious. And there are so many great varieties to try in various colors.

Yay congrats, they look great!! I know what you mean about feeling proud – I am also a newbie, and the feeling you get when your hard work pays off is just amazing!

  5. Hell yeah feel proud! The radishes look nice and even if feel like you pulled them a little early it doesn’t really affect their taste.
Never stop feeling proud about little wins.

    Ugly food happens. Embrace it.
Perfect produce is a lot of factory results.

I have never gotten radishes that big!

They look so good! I pulled a tiny one today. The greens are really good sautéed too with some garlic, pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar.

Amazed the same way every year. Gardens provide.

There’s no real such thing as a perfect radish

What a beauty! Just planted my first radishes… amazed how quickly they sprouted their first leaves. 💜 that pride is earned and deserved

You should definitely be proud. I take photos of my veggies too. Any time you can be self sufficient and produce something you would normally have to buy, it’s a win. Not to mention the skill set that you’ve obtained. Vegetable garden season is so rewarding… it’s my happy time. I’m growing radishes for the first time this year, but they aren’t ready to harvest yet.

Admittedly, you feel silly for smiling ear to ear when your friends come by and you show them what you’ve grown. But, at least you harvested them before you show them off. I, on the other hand, show off my onions, non harvested-still in the raised bed-leaning over “Look at my BIG onions!”. Smiling so big and giggling with delight. Welcome to the club!
