Hello, folks! Quick question for everyone, I grabbed these from the sushi section of Hmart today. I remembered from another store that I ordered from that they said to freeze the fish first before eating. But, since I bought it fresh from a section that markets sushi/sashimi, I assumed (maybe wrongly?) that I could eat it without preparation.
The salmon sashimi I feel more confident about that I can eat it raw. However, the bluefish tuna I'm a little squeamish about since it doesn't say sashimi. I tried calling to ask if I can eat it right after buying without prep, but the answer I received didn't assauge my concerns.
Asking for advice if I'm good to go, or should I prepare for stomach issues (I ate a piece of each already).

They’re all ready to eat. Whoever told you to freeze the fish either didn’t get the full information or are spreading half assed info. You only freeze the type of fish you catch that you intend to eat raw. Fishing boats already do that. The tuna saku you buy have already been processed before they sell it
Anything that H Mart sells as sashimi has already been handled in a way as to be safe to eat raw.
Ironically, the bluefin tuna is likely one of the safer pieces you can buy.
How much did the tuna cost if you don’t mind me asking?
I did not buy the salmon prepacked but salmon from the fish department and used this for my sushi. Fresh salmon farmed is already sashimi quality.
Where in the heck did that salmon come from? There’s no way in hell I’m paying those prices unless it’s salmon from NZ or something
The fish guy from h-Mart doraville directed me to the refrigerated prepackaged salmon sashimi but I wanted the one from his fresh cut section which was cheaper than the “sashimi” packaged salmon. Price difference per lbs was $9.
seems way over priced for farm raised salmon but you do you.
They’re both ready to eat
Farmed salmon and bluefin are both exempt from freezing (although they both are during transport likely)
Don’t need to freeze. Also that’s a fucking major rip off for that salmon
Saku blocks are ready to go. Wild salmon should not be eaten as is, they commonly have nematodes.
Its made of fish
I used to work Hmart. Never buy meats, and fish. They are not fresh, and they are overprice
