Lee Styer and Jessie Prawlucki Styer have found a life balance after opening Fond in Wallingford.

Restaurant owners Lee Styer and Jessie Prawlucki Styer came to Wallingford looking for a more balanced life, and they brought their Center City French food BYOB restaurant Fond with them, writes Craig LaBan for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

That means their signature pork belly, escargots, and stellar desserts are now available for local consumption.

Upscale places can be tricky in Delaware County.

Rosemary in Ridley Park received rave reviews but had to scale back its ambitious menu into a lower-priced concept this past fall.

Swarthmore’s Village Vines has closed.

Fond has been open on West Possom Hollow Road since October.

Styer, 40, and his wife, partner, and pastry chef Jessie Prawlucki Styer, 39, had already moved to Media to raise their three children and decided a restaurant in Wallingford would be an option much closer to home.

“Lee and I were 24 and 23 years old when we first opened Fond, and we had nothing to our names. We were pretty much married to the restaurant and then my bakery [the now-closed Belle Cakery],” said Jessie.

Now older and with children, their priorities have changed to finding a balance between enjoying family and running a business.
