Hi everyone I just bought my first molcajete and noticed large colorful pieces of rock in the side and one in the bowl of the molcajete. In light they appear to be almost greenish. Is this natural variation of the rock or something to be concerned about?

Forgot the mention, I got this from Masienda.
I’m not a molcajete expert but I do like rocks. They are carved from basalt, which is an igneous rock that formed from the rapid cooling of lava. It’s not unusual for other rocks to be present that didn’t fully melt. So that’s my guess, just some other stone that got picked up by the flow. No reason for concern that I know of.
