Pernod Ricard has announced the completion of sale of its international wines portfolio to the owner of Accolade Wines, a consortium named Australian Wine Holdco Limited (AWL).
The consortium has combined the portfolio from Pernod Ricard with Accolade Wines to create a new global wine company – Vinarchy.
Pernod Ricard will continue to distribute its international wine portfolio for a few months to facilitate the transition.
After that point, Pernod Ricard will focus solely on its premium international spirits and champagne brands.
The transaction includes a series of established wine brands such Jacob’s Creek, Orlando and St Hugo in Australia, Brancott Estate, Stoneleigh and Church Road in New Zealand and Campo Viejo, Ysios, Tarsus and Azpilicueta from Spain.
The new company, Vinarchy, said it has a “bold ambition to redefine wine”.
In an announcement post, Vinarchy further commented: “Each brand brings its own story and reflects our commitment to creating meaningful experiences that bring people together.”
