GROTON, CT — A sandwich shop chain with locations in Rhode Island and Connecticut is expanding to Groton.

Gansett Wraps will open at 214 Route 12 in Groton in the spring, according to its website.

The store will open Monday, March 10, a representative told Patch.

It will open in the current location of Pick Pockets. The store is closed for renovations during the brand change over.

“We have done a few simple renovations to change the store’s branding,” a representative said.

Gansett Wraps currently has a Storrs location along with three Rhode Island stores. It’s opening another store in the spring in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, according to the representative.

The Mediterranean restaurant serves up salads along with a variety of — you guessed it — wraps such as falafel, chicken pesto, and gyro.

Pick Pockets opened in 2018 and Gansett Wraps will have a very similar menu, according to The Connecticut Scoop.
