Holy shirt. Looks great
That’s a pretty damned good first bake, hell even 2nd , 10th or 20th. I’d be happy with that.
Is there anything you want to change for your next?

Great loaf. But you might want to try to bake longer
Looks better than any of mine, and I’m a year or so in 😆
Great loaf! Looks delicious
Not really, unless there’s something you want different about it.
For your first attempt, this is impressive.
No don’t broil it. Your recipe calls for a preheat of 450 then 400 bake. I would bump both temps by 50 degrees.
Your gumminess along bottom llooks more like underproofing and not result of slicing too early.
Your recipe calls for adding oil to dough to make it crispy. It actually leads to softer crust and crumb. Most classic SD breads are just flour, water nd salt – no oil.
First bake? Then you are off to a great start, and frankly it looks beautiful!
It looks great. I’d skip the oil once or twice if I were you and see where it takes you
Better than my first loaf…I baked a cannonball
Nice job for your first loaf! 👏👏👏👏
Emilie is who I followed when I started out! I have noticed the book recipes are not the same as the blog…blog updates the original…
Great job!
Maybe try baking it at a slightly higher temperature?
Looks delicious! Congrats
