I accidentally forgot to turn the oven down when I took off the lid so the crust turned out a bit thicker and harder than I would’ve liked. Might extend my lid on time next time as I think I’d like a loaf with softer crust 🙂 any feedback or advice welcome!!

My starter is 20% rye 80% bread flour

Beginners luck. Prepare for months of frustration

You did great and need to put that picture on your fridge for the loaves that don’t turn out that amazing.

I’ve only been baking sourdough for 5 years and was getting pretty cocky about my wonderful bread then a few days I had the most epic fail….. a solid loaf of gummy, yucky grossness ……dogs wouldn’t even look at it they just wanted to bury it 🥲😂

Meh (crying as my tenth loaf isn’t this good)

That’s amazing, especially compared to my first loaf I tried to make with my new (second ever) starter. It’s practically chicken-breasted compared to that.

Very good color and crumb. Much better than my early loaves (flat, sad cement pavers)

Congrats! That is a loaf of beauty! Try to repeat that recipe, it may have been a fluke, but it more likely will be another successful loaf!
