Hello all,
I am struggling to find good meals. I am a big foodie.
For the most part I am doing good this isn’t my first rodeo. It’s just hard because I’m cooking for my boyfriend and I and he is not in a calorie deficit so I make the “same” meal but don’t measure with his.
I am slowly but surely learning more. But I need quick easy meals asap. I have a three month old and my brain is so tired. I’ve done different versions of protein bowls, stir fry, Alfredo etc the basics. I’m just nervous about creating an e/d. How can we go out to eat without me not feeling bad?? Idk
This is was a dinner/lunch looks like for me.

What’s your daily fibre? Looks like more of that would probably help with satiety.
Wraps are very good. Get some of those high-fibre keto tortillas and fill with extra lean ground beef, beans, a little bit of thawed frozen avocado. Yum.
First – you are still very much so in the trenches if your baby is only three months old, so be gentle on yourself. I have a six month old and I’m just now starting to feel good again. I know how you’re feeling. There’s a lot of pressure to “bounce back” and it’s hard when you don’t recognize your own body ❤️
For your meals – You might feel more satiated if you eat more fruits and veggies. It looks like you’re focusing on eating protein, which is great. Rethinking carbs has helped me a lot. Instead of eating rice or potatos with a meal, I’ll have a big bowl of fruit for roughly the same amount of carbs. The extra fiber helps, too. My husband doesn’t track what he eats, so we eat the same proteins and just vary the amounts and sides.
For going out to eat – sometimes it’s easier to order a kids meal. Chipotle has a great option. Otherwise, just look for something with a lot of protein and sub the side for veggies or fruit.
I’ve never been pregnant or had a baby and don’t know your situation so take it with a grain of salt. Is three months postpartum the right time to be focusing on a calorie deficit? If you’re breastfeeding, you need to make sure you’re getting enough nourishment for both you AND baby. If you’re not, then it might not matter as much. But your body has just been through some craaaazy shit. I honestly think women who have given birth are superhero’s. Like it’s been said, I’m sure your body has changed and that can be difficult. But while your body is trying to heal, recover, and rebalance hormones, I wonder if it’s better to eat at maintenance and focus on Whole Foods that will fuel your body and brain. You’re already tired, why add this onto your plate when it’s a time of recovery? Just a thought from a woman who thinks you’re incredible! <3
I would encourage you to use ChatGPT! You can tell it what you like, what you don’t, and what your calorie goals are. It will then give you options and plenty of inspiration! It will even make you a grocery list and create the recipe as a PDF you can save, or you can save the recipe from the chat to your notes app if you have an iPhone. I’ve been doing this since January and it’s been a total game changer. This should make your life a little easier 🙂
