Chebakia – Festive Moroccan Cookies:
Chebakia is a traditional and decorated cookie, originating from Moroccan cuisine. The cookie is especially loved during the holidays. With a perfect combination of sweetness and spectacular design, Chebakia is more than just a cookie – it is a culinary experience.

Topping with honey or sweet syrup: Heat honey in a small saucepan. Dip each cookie in the hot honey and place on a plate to cool.
Decoration: Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top, or you can also add a little cinnamon.

Ingredients
1 kg sifted flour
250 g soft butter/margarine1 egg
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon sifted baking powder
1 tablespoon vinegar
A pinch of salt
2 drops of water
1 cup to 2 cups of water
For thick syrup
4 cups of sugar
2 cups of water
1 drop of water
Juice from a whole lemon

I use an international measuring cup – 140 grams per cup.
