My mom has made these my whole life and I have made it for my kids for years
My son came up with the idea to smoke him and I'm just wondering how long I've smoked Cheez-Its before and I think I smoked them too long. I've seen other people on here who have smoked Cheez-Its and I'm wondering if it would be about the same.
16 oz. package of saltine crackers
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
4 Tbsp. (about 2 packages) ranch dressing mix
3 Tbsp. red pepper flakes
2 cups olive oil
I typically put it in a Ziploc bag for a few hours before serving

I’ve never tried them, looking forward to see what the other comments are…
Recipe saved thank you I’ll try it this weekend
We just called these firecrackers growing up, granted I wasn’t in Texas.

Do not change this 🤣. These look amazing!
2 cups is kind of a shit ton of olive oil isn’t it??
30min to an hour, probably
Dude thanks for the recipe. Remember these as a kid.
One of my favorite things.
Sorry, im confused on the listed ingredients

This is a dip to go with the crackers I assume? What are the two packages in reference here? Like fast food packages? Why would you put dip or crackers in a ziplock?
And if the above was just for dip, wouldn’t the dry cracker portion need a binder agent?
I’ve never smoked any Firecrackers but it sounds interesting
How are these laid out in the smoker? In single rows, basket, or what? Also, two cups seems excessive but I’m gonna trust you.
Love firecrackers!!
Id go REAL light on the smoke. A little goes a long way
As someone that also has made Alabama Firecrackers, I don’t think these would do well with a smoke flavor.
I also know a lot of recipes and people also bake these for some time, but I also eat them raw, and use a bit less oil.
If I used more oil, I’d probably bake them to avoid them getting soggy, but these are usually finished within a few days.
