Fuck, this one hits… reminds me of my first job as a FOH. Small, kinda of up-scale restaurant that during Christmas and NYE had waiting links that were close to triple the capacity, small kitchen and FOH crew, absuive ownership and bad equipament for FOH and BOH. Christmas we had 4 breakdowns, dishie quit in the middle of lunch rush, I ended up working about 12hs that day, through FOH, dish pit and desserts. At the end there wasnt energy enough to cry, iust sit staring at nothing with a pint of craft beer

Last Mother’s Day, the girl who i was “work husband and wife” with had one of these days… she sat down outside, which I’d never seen her do. I sat next to her and asked her if she wanted to talk or just chill in silence. She said to just chill in silence. She leaned on me, and I held her for about 20ish min. She doesn’t work there anymore but occasionally stops by and always gives me a hug and kiss on the cheek. She was one of my favorite people, and I like to think I was maybe one of hers.
