Le Royal is in the Royal Champaign Hotel in Champillon.

The service was excellent and not stuffy at all. My wife had fun conversations with the sommelier all night. The room is cozy with a fireplace.

Some of my favorite flavors:

Eel which was an amuse bouche. Nice bite which reminded me of flavors I had in Japan.

Carabineros with French peas, sorrel, bee pollen was excellent with strong and contrasting flavors. The wine pairing of Le Clos blanc was good.

Belaun Lamb with Pertuis green asparagus and wild garlic was excellent as well. Paired with a 2020 Domaine Santa Duc Le Pied de Baud Chateaneuf-du-pape. The lamb was very tender and didn’t taste gamey at all.

Have been there few days ago. Really enjoyed the lobster.

This looks like real michelin-starred dining. I should really check out more places in France outside Paris/Cote d’Azur.
