I think any Weber Grill in decent condition is worth $100. For $100 the alternatives are just abysmal anymore with how much cheaper grills cost.

    Absolutely not!

Not related to my statement above, do you have the link to the listing?

  3. YES!!!! That lid color is really nice, and there are YouTube videos on how to clean the “paint pealing” but is actually the Creosote build up over the years. The ceramic underneath the Creosote is rated for 700+F.

Edit: I zoomed the photo, and I think you would get an already cleaned up lid! For $100, that covered the likely 4 hours the person selling spent just on cleaning the lid.

I had this very grill. Purchased in 1986. Spent it’s whole life outside. Lasted until 2022. I’d say $100 is a steal judging by how it looks!

It’s worth $100 even if everything *doesn’t* work. Everything inside is replaceable, and the unit is cosmeticaly sound.

Heck ya, I’d pay 100 for that even if nothing worker. I’m a sucker for the old webers, love the look of them with new stained wood.

Great grill (owned one for many years before upgrading to Weber Genesis 6 burner), and also a great price if it’s in working order.

I bought a new SP 335 after a move. A few years prior to move I’d sold my old trust weber after I’d rebuilt it and used it for a few years..sold it for $300, about what I paid for it new as I recall.

After using the SP 335 for a year, I’d take my old grill back in a heart beat. Knobs under the grill surface, especially at an angle that captures ever last drip, drop, stray stream of sauce is horribly annoying. Little has changed with the box, burners, ignitors, flavorizer bars and grates so frankly, that old grill is a superior design.

You also have option to customize with your own side accessories.

if I had it to do over again, I’ve have found a beater for sale and fixed it up, like you’re doing. Its a better cooking experience and I could have saved a $1000

If everything works, that’s a good deal for 100 bucks

I had a 2 burner one I picked up from a Restore. Used it a few years until everything rusted out. Still the best gas grill Ive used to date.

  12. 1000% got mine for $50 off Craigslist, fully restored it myself and had an absolute blast doing it. Have since restored a handful of these old Weber’s for friends and family!

I’ll also say that if you’re serious about a full restore, I learned everything I now know from the “virtual weber bulletin board” forums. Specifically, the grills and kettles section, or something like that, as others mentioned. Spend an hour browsing on there and decide if you want to dive in. Very knowledgeable and helpful group.

My favorite conversation starter when people compliment my grill is that it was actually manufactured one month before I was born. Not many folks grilling on a 30+ year old grill and man do I love it!

    Goodluck!

That’s probably the cleanest looking used grill I’ve seen listed

  14. If you can confirm for sure that everything works, absolutely! Still rocking my Dad’s from ’95 with various upgrades over the years

  15. It’s missing a shelf, but $100 is a good deal, if the inside looks as good as the outside.

You just gave me the best memories!  This was exactly what we used when I grew up.  Beer butt chicken and way too many burgers 🙂

  17. Solid grill you can still easily get parts for. Grab some cast iron grates and you’ll really be in biz.
