Awaze Ethio Fusion restaurant in Southern California (Artesia). What you see on this platter is – rolled up injera bread made from fermented teff flour, roasted green beans, brown lentil stew, roasted beets, seasoned red lentils, cabbage saute, roasted carrots, kale, chickpea stew, seasoned yellow lentils and roasted potatoes. Ethiopian cuisine offers a variety of options for vegetarians. It’s healthy and delicious!

I forgot to mention about the appetizer seen in the second pic. It’s called Sambusa. It’s a fried savory pastry filled with spiced lentil mixture. Really delicious! 😋
Ethiopian restaurants have been ubiquitous around here for the last 30-40 years, I forget they are still rare in most other places.
Going into any place, the question is will their veggie sampler let you pick five items or only three.
There used to be an Ethiopian restaurant near me but they closed down like four years ago now I have to drive three hours for the delicious food.
I was just at Tesfa in Chicago, so very delicious.
The absolute best meal of my life was in an Ethiopian restaurant in Brussels, Belgium. Place was called Kokob, which unfortunately has closed down. Absolutely stunning food.
That looks like a flavor explosion wrapped in bread—sign me up!
Love me some Ethiopian platters.
That first time, though, oh man. So much delicious fiber.
