Tokyo Omakase marathon – including Sugita

Just got back from Tokyo and ate across 5 sushi-yas and here’s my ranking.

1. Sugita (Pics 1 and 4-6).
   Truly lives up to its reputation. A transformative experience and like meeting sushi god. Very fortunate to snag a reservation over TableAll.

2. Sushi Mizukami (pics 11-13)
   Super traditional Edomae sushi. All nigiri’s were excellent though no standout. Highly recommend.

3. Kiyota (2-4)
   Neta was high quality but vibes were very odd. No simultaneous start and when we entered the guests from the previous seating got a birthday song and a cake. Just odd, but fine sushi.

4. Ebisu Endou (13-16)
   A go to for me in Tokyo. While sushi is not highest level it’s quite western in flavor and great speaking with Norihito Endo. The eel is the best in the world and cucumber excellent.

5. Sugaya (7-10)
   Just a scam. 50.000 yen for 12 servings including 5 nigiri??? Of which. 3 were tuna. Fancy ingredients like ankimo with truffle cheese?? Were used and undoubtedly high quality tuna but felt absolutely robbed.
