I recently started using these bags but when I stack them, the icing ends up smushed. Any tips? Any recipes that hold up really well?
Thanks!

Did you let it dry for 8+ hours? I usually leave mine to dry overnight.

Make sure your icing is fully dry before packaging!! I would have one cookie as the test while you’re learning your drying times. It can range from 8-12 hours depending on the thickness of your icing and the humidity of the area you’re drying in. But a fully dry cookie won’t have any “give” in the icing.

Don’t stack them on top of each other. Stack them like soldiers. Stand them up on the edge…..does that make sense?

Like others said, leave them to dry overnight at least, don’t stack on top of each other, put them standing. And also, is there’s any chance the purple color was oversaturated with too much food coloring? When colors are oversaturated they look dry but they never fully dry if you smoosh it with a finger it’ll make a dent. If RI is fully dry it’s pretty solid.

Wait 24 hours to package, even if it feels fine

Oh man I’ve made this mistake before. I made 60+ santa cookies for a work event. Bagged them within hours of decorating (I was new to decorating) and then stacked them. It was so depressing haha
Definitely let them dry for a long time. Never stack!

Just a tip that dehydrators are helpful to flash freeze icing to avoid dips in the middle.

Oh that’s so disappointing! They were beautiful and I’m sure a lot of work!

Can you share your royal icing recipe? I feel like that might be where the issue lies. I say that because I’ve never seen royal icing look like this even after only allowing to dry for 6 hours. I agree that 6 hours is not long enough (I let mine dry overnight) and I also agree with the stacking like soldiers instead of flat, but something else looks wrong here.

You have to let them dry COMPLETELY.. like 8 hours or more

They need to fully dry. I use a toothpick to give them a little tap tap to check.

What are these bags called? What would I search for on Amazon??
Edit- cookies are adorable! I have such decorative envy when I come in this sub 😍😍

Dry them longer and don’t stack them, stand them up or let them slightly lay against one another at an angle and then pack a box that way.
