I just opened this can of sprats in oil and they look very weird. I’ve had these cans before and they have never looked like this. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I find in moments like this where something can seem out of the ordinary or weird, it is a great opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and try something exciting….then again, I do get food poisoning once a year or so. still, the good mostly outweighs the bad….so far

Smell it, if it smells fine, taste it – if it tastes good, go for it – worst case scenario you’ll die, which isn’t as bad as it sounds.

I’m not a risk taker with canned fish, I would not eat.

It may be fine, but I’ve found it’s wisest not to take risks with food. If something seems off, I don’t eat it.

Since this doesn’t happen often, throwing out the occasional bit of questionable food is a small expense to protect yourself.

If you feel the need to ask, its not worth it

They have been in the bathtub too long and are all pruny.
As someone else said, when in doubt, toss it. Very low investment here.

Nah…not normal at all…toss them…not worth the risk of consumption…

It pains me to say that but…better safe than sorry…

If you see anything moving or bubbles or sounds of any sort coming out of that can, return it for a refund.

I’ve never seen sprats look like this and I certainly wouldn’t eat them.

You should tweet this at them and get free cans

This is what happens when you eat sprats in your hotel room

This looks like the skin on a corpse.

While technically that’s what this *actually is*, sardine skins don’t usually look like they died in a 90 degree house a few days before being discovered and put in a can…

    So I’d toss/avoid
