A nice mid-temperature steaming followed by a quick bath in a deep fryer.

We’ll definitely need pictures of the final product.

Cut into cubes and serve it like that. Salt and pepper only

  4. jorateyvr

Op you better have bought every single one of these at that price.

  5. At that price I would have spent $1000 at Costco that day.

    Japanese A5 for $40/lb??

    I’d buy $400 worth lol

  7. Rolex_throwaway

Dang, it was $59.99 at my local Costco last time I checked.

  8. I am once again asking why doesn’t anything like this ever happen to me

  9. This is at my Costco in Naples Fl. They had the whole ribeyes a couple weeks ago for $60/lb and these when I stopped today. Depending on how this goes tonight maybe I’ll grab some more tomorrow and vac them into the freezer. Otherwise never seen it for under $100 before

  10. I’m waiting for the $60 ones in my store to go on sale

I get their Wagyu Tritip every few months. It let it sit on smoldering lump hardwood at 200 for 20 minutes to an hour, remove it from the grill to get it screaming hot then sear it. Absolutely phenomenal.

  12. Wtf why is it so cheap? Probably isn’t selling but damn

  13. ShreddingPowder

Every single one would be in my freezer rn

  14. I’d probably reverse sear it, but overshoot it by 10° and hate myself for the next year or so.

Boil it in milk… Then serve it with some jelly beans

never seen them sell cuts this small, I’d totally get one

with the high fat content you really just want to cut it into small cubes and give them a good sear. not too high heat as you want the fat to render a bit. hard to mess up tbh

This price is very suspicious 🧐…. Are we sure that “5” isn’t supposed to be an “S”?

Pro tip!! Don’t grill as a typical US steak! Do it like you are in Tokyo…look up Youtube for videos, I’d cut bite-size thickness and slices, can be longer, and grill each slice custom! This is the way. Let us know how it went.

  19. Eat way less of it than you’d think you should. Like 1/4 lb of it for an adult can be too much.

  20. This is wild! My costco sells these at $60 per pound and only sells them in giant $400 portions, never just one steak. Given how rich and heavy these are, there’s absolutely no way we could eat that much and I’m not letting this go to waste.

If my costco sold them in portions like this, at THIS price? I’d absolutely splurge on some, divide that into 3 steaks, and have a fantastic week lol.

I mean, I pay 38 for regular good ribeye from my local butcher, that’s a steal.

  22. No_Routine6430

Where are you getting $2.25 per LB? That says $39.99 and the prices on each back that up.
    What am I missing?

  23. spirulinaslaughter

Bud people would be flying into your city if there are really that many left

  24. lcdroundsystem

You cut into smaller pieces and sear to medium rare. That’s it.

  25. You better buy at least 5 for that price.

I don’t think this is a5 but it’s god damn close.

It’s really not that bad making them, but they do cook super fast because of all the fat.

Pat it dry, then brine it for 24 hours, then reverse reverse it. I like to do 250f in my oven, and it took me 20 minutes to reach 110f in my steaks. Rest it for 30 minutes, then sear it on super high heat in a cast iron, or grill until 125f, then rest it for 10 minutes.

No need to put any oil on the pan btw. It’s so fatty that it can cook in itself lol

Going to Costco tonight to see if my local has any

  28. stereopticon11

even if you make it well done on accident, it will still be one of the best steaks you’ve ever had in your life

  29. Ballfarter1

You lucky bastard. I bought my parents a 3.5 pound a5 ribeye roast a couple years ago for $350 and that was a bargain.
