Idk how long I've had this, but it's time. I made marry me chicken at 11, supposed to take 6-7 hours on low, 3 breasts. It finished at 2:30…. put it on warm for the last couple hours till husband home, still boiling! Need a new slow cooker, maybe also pressure? Idk i just want to make my chicken meals and stew without boiling everything!!!!!

The cheap ones at Walmart have always served me well lol, they are incredibly simple machines with a heating element. No need to ball out. Do check out pressure cookers though, they’re capable of some pretty dope things.
Mine also runs hot, and any recipe that says “cook for 8 hours on low” I plan on it being done in 6.
I have the same issue. It is so frustrating. There is no true “warm” setting. I have read a lot of comments saying modern slow cooker are this way due to concerns over food poisoning, etc, but I am still hoping to find something that works better.
Mine also boils at warm. I had to set it at low to keep food from burning
All the newer crockpots do that so I’m always in the lookout for a good, working vintage one.
