It’s just a little underdone in the center but that’s all I’ve got. Great job.

Looks good i’d put that plate down
TheDarkness05
For me it’s perfection!

Looks great to me, I’d smash. Only critique I could offer is to render the fat a little more. I sous vide then sear, so it’s a bit easier. Regardless, well done.
YerbaPanda
Woot! That’s a win!
Super-Bacon76
lol. I first I thought you had dropped it in the freshly mowed grass. Lol.

Perfect!

First steak? You have a very bright future. Great job.
Il_Magn1f1c0
Noice! Would eat

Sous vide is a whole different method, but tbh if you love the steak may not be worth adding extra steps. Sear on my friend and keep spreading the char.

Looks absolutely awesome. Congrats…..

You’re a liar. No way you could cook/plate like that 1st time. Well done sir
SinistrEdge
Looks great, but I would do is instead of whole garlic cloves…mince them and add some butter. Then put on top of the steak. Other than that looks delicious!

Once you removed the grass it looked great. I’d eat the shit out of that.

Why do people always post “how’d I do!!?” without prefacing what you were aiming for? We ain’t mind readers.
If you were aiming for medium, you undercooked.
If you were aiming for rare, you slightly overcooked.
I’d say medium rare is pretty spot on.
But again this is all a moving needle based on where you wanted to end up. Gotta give us that info to get an honest answer besides: “smash”

first time?!

How do you think you did?

Looks good. Maybe 2-3 degrees more would be perfect, but at least it’s not over done. For a first, I’d say great!

Reddit, did he cut the steak wrong? I really want to make OP feel bad about something here. Forgot what cuts you need to cut against the grain with.

Why put the whole cloves on the plate? Are you eating all those? Just chomping like 4 spice gobstoppers or something?

I’m weird and like steak well done. But I know many have theirs medium or rare. Your steak looks like it came from a nice restaurant, and you did a great job. I think it looks delicious.
ExpensiveAbility3463
I’d eat it.
Glittering_Novel5174
Everything there looks inedible if I’m being honest. Put it in a box with some dry ice and send it to me for proper disposal.
owter12
How long did you cook it and at what temp?
Critical_Fan8224
a perfect rare steak. some would argue it’s perfectly medium rare but I’d call it rare

First time ever cooking a steak! How did I do?
Absolutely terrible, gimme that and I will get rid of it for you.
Don’t worry about food waste, it is going straight into my stomach
Horrible. It needs to be destroyed. I am willing to take it off your hands and destroy it for you.
Well done! No pun intended.
