New to wine, found this at an estate sale for $20. Can anyone fill me in on the quality (or lack thereof) of this wine?

Bottles looks to be in great shape excepting the empty one. Are they half-bottles?

  2. They’re 50+ years old, so probably (way) past their prime. $20 is worth the gamble, though. Unless they’ve been in ideal storage conditions, they are probably not worth anything on the resale market. But totally worth opening them and tasting with friends.

These are all likely dead and have been for many years. The Cabernet Sauvignon might plausibly still have some life in it. Probably not though.

Thanks for the quick replies! I left it for someone with more experience to experiment with.

The wines were decent for California when produced. They’re probably all over the hill except the Cab. If it were stored properly, it might be great. There are a couple of 1973 cabs selling online for about $300.

Of course, I’d be curious and open up the others anyhow, just to see. You never know.
