Two very enjoyable sauces from yesterday. I was waiting by a Ace Hardware remembered they had sauce. It’s funny to me just buying hot sauce when i go in. But smoken ghost is a really good textured savory sauce you get the flavor of Ghost pepper and the Smoke of chipotle (my favorite flavor) very good sauce! And the Torchbearer..everyone loves them! This guys a good one. Good price and it’s a perfect sweat sauce. Neither of these are very spicy. But they’re just good! So go get your mulch and saw blades but stop by the sauces and see what your local Ace has.

  1. That’s where I found my first Torchbearer in the wild!

Both are great! Savor that Smoken Ghost, Hoff’s just recently went out of business a few weeks ago. Sucks.

What state are you in? I really need to go to my local Ace Hardware but I don’t want to look funny only going there for hot sauce if they don’t have any 😂 Always see people post solid finds there though

Hoffs is well was local to me, I tried almost all of their recipes and loved them all definitely sad to see them go.

Smoken Ghost is top tier, sadly they closed up a couple weeks ago. I’m heading to my local Ace to grab the last bottle they have. So good. I put it on all kinds of stuff, but it really takes chili and sloppy joes to the next level.

jungle jims is the SPOT for hot sauces. I will have to check ace hardware near me this weekend because i normally buy my torchbearer off of amazon.

  7. I used to live by one in Denver that had so much random stuff… hot sauce, beef jerky, bubble gum. I really appreciated how they had such a good selection (the store closed for shopping center redevelopment). I wasn’t sure of the difference and tried going to Do It Best… not at all the same. All they had was Traeger brand seasoning powders.

I was okay with the Son of Zombie but not thrilled. It’s definitely a BBQ/wing sauce, and I like you know, hot sauce. BBQ sauce coming in a 5 oz bottle makes it kinda expensive. I’d rather go for Gila Monster’s [New Mexico sauce](https://www.gilabbq.com/products) which would work out to cost a lot less.

Son of Zombie is great on BBQ, makes a killer pulled pork sandwich

It wasn’t until I joined this sub that I learned some hardware stores carry hot sauce — my only guess initially was that it’s because you’ll have blue collar folks coming in on a regular basis for hardware/construction stuff and it’s a sauce they can stash in their car for lunch breaks

I found two bottles of Smoken Ghost at an Ace and grabbed them both based on recommendation from this sub.

Easily one of the best sauces I’ve ever had, and since Hoff went out of business they won’t be around for long.

I remember Fry’s started selling cologne right before they went out of business.

I’ll have to check out ace after work today.

“Ace is the place the helpful hot sauce folks.”

Get the Hoff while you can because they are closing doors.

Haha last time I went to Ace I noticed the hot sauces so I had a feeling that’s what you meant
