You get points for slicing across the grain.

I hope my kids can do this when they get to your age! How did it taste?

Points for slicing across the grain, and a decent crust that looks like you didn’t completely overwhelm your mom’s kitchen with smoke either. Some people will say there’s a bit of grey banding like that’s a bad thing. it’s not and this looks delicious. Good job.

What about this makes it Wagyu, though? Nothing about the appearance of the meat suggests it is. It just looks like regular old USDA choice. Nothing wrong with that either…I just hope you didn’t pay wagyu prices for this.

  4. Looks great! A sharper, non-serrated knife will give you a more aesthetic cut if that’s something you’re interested in. Keep on cooking!

Looks great to me! I’m a medium guy, so if I was nitpicking just for myself, I’d have probably got the center a bit more done, but that’s just me. If you put that on my plate, I’d smash. Nice job!

Bro, I’d eat that when you turned your back on me and not even feel guilty. Great job!

Great crust on that left one mate. Well cooked. Bet that disappeared really quickly. Especially if you’ve got parents like me.. “oh, son that looks great.. *grabs a slice* oh and it tastes great too, top work!”

It looks good but in another post you said you cooked a steak for your husband on Mother’s Day .. ?

Nice! I would want a few degrees warmer just so the center of the thicker cut is a little more done. Challenging with a Denver.

When I was 15 I could only afford dollar tacos from jack in the box, good for you! That looks like a yummy steak

Could use some mayonnaise but otherwise not bad

Saw the same cut at Whole Foods San Jose. Ironically it was called the San Jose Wagyu steak 🤣

Great sear. Most of the wagu I see here is severely undercooked. Beautifully done.
