Hi everyone, it’s Alicia with the Docker Dozen and this weekend we are putting in our annual vegetable garden for our family of 13. We’re going to start by shopping for everything we need for the garden. We’re starting at Bristol’s garden center. This is I don’t know. Josh prefers this garden center. We’ll see how much of his list we can get here. Josh plants the garden. Josh tends the garden most of the time. It’s his like summer project. So, um, he’s a teacher, so he’s off in the summers. So, we’re going to go see what we can find. Let’s go. Thought I was going to beat the weekend rush, but I did not. All right. I think I’ll get this big wagon. Maybe. Come on. Okay. Lemons and limes. Gorgeous flowers. Smells amazing. Uh, you know what? I’ll get the basil and stuff with a smaller part. Let’s keep going. This wagon is a little tricky to get around here. Okay, found the vegetable section. Here we go. Start with tomatoes. Sorry for the background noise. It’s all the fans. There’s so many kinds of tomatoes. Please tell me Josh specified what kind he wanted. Let’s see. Oh, he did. Okay, thank goodness. Four big tomatoes, beef eaters, and four cherry tomatoes. And I’m on an incline, so my wagon wants to just roll away from me. Okay, here. I’m going to wedge it with this behind it. Look at me. Look at me problem solving. Here we go. We’re going to put this here. Maybe. Can I parallel park a giant wagon? Let’s see. We kind of did. That’s as good as it’s going to get. Okay. Looks like these are the big guys over here. No, it’s just a mix of everything. So, we need cherry and beef eater. Beef. I know what he’s talking about. Yeah. Um, I’m just going to walk around the whole area. And what are these giant ones? All right. Normally, not normally. Uh, I guess it’s half and half. Josh will do this shopping. He enjoys it. Beef master. Maybe that’s what he meant. Um, but he is so busy coaching track and football now. It’s crazy. I’m just wondering if I should get these giant ones. Like, they’re already so grown. That’s sunb. But what is a sunbul? If it’s those orange tomatoes, then I’m definitely getting that. I love those orange tomatoes. Okay, these are sweet tomatoes. So, sweet 100 cherry tomatoes. So, I could get these. I could get these. We’re going to want to get these cuz then we’ll have tomatoes faster because these still have to mature. You know what I’m saying? So, one, two, oops. This is the Sean’s vocabulary list on the back of Josh’s garden shopping list for Sher. Okay, let me set this down. Heat. Heat. I’m going to get one of the sunold. I’ll show you what they are. It’s just like another form of cherry tomato. Give a little variety. Okay, now the beef master. I’ll have to get the smaller ones cuz I don’t see any of these big guys. So, he wants what was it? Four. Yeah. Does he mean four like that’s four or four of these? I got to text him. All right. While I wait to hear back from him, let’s keep shopping. kick back seen yesterday. My arms are sore. Oh my gosh. Stop running into things. All right, let’s go down this aisle. Oh, there’s more beef master there. Okay. Let’s see what these big guys are. Let me uh plop this wagon along this post. Okay, that was not supposed to be that loud of a clock. Yellow pear. Yellow pear. Cherry. Cherry. Cherry. Yellow pear. Okay, that’s real. Okay. What are these guys? Super Sonic. I don’t know what that kind is. I think it’s like a grape tomato, maybe. Clearly, I just eat them. I don’t grow them and tend to them. We love summer when we can just step outside our back door and get all our produce. Well, vegetables, I guess. You know what? I think I’m going to get these instead. I should get Brandy wine instead of the um Masters because he just wants like a big tomato. Do you know what I mean? Like a small tomato and a big tomato because these are going to take forever to come in and they’re going to be overpowered by the cherry tomatoes in theory. Yep, that’s what I’m going to do. Executive decision. We’re going to get four of the big boys. I really want the brandy one, but I only see two. I guess I could do two and two. Let me get those other ones back. Do you know what I mean though? Like these guys are already grown and then these wouldn’t get as much sunlight and I just fear they wouldn’t make it. Yeah, Josh is right. They have really good stuff here. Dang it. I hate when he’s right. All right. This is a big boy. He’s just in the wrong one. Ro. Brand new line. And one more. All right, I saw the peppers. I try and plant what we eat the most of, like what I buy the most of every week. So, let’s get four pepper plants. along the wall. Red peppers. This is crazy. I’m going to buy my stuff here and take it home. Maybe I’ll get two and two. Yeah, I’m going to do that. I’m going to get two of the red and two of the green. These be like Christmasy colors. I’ll get an orange. I’m getting orange. Orange blaze. And I’ll get one red, one, one red, one green. Oh my gosh, I’m so indecisive. If I take that back, I’m going to get one red, one orange, one yellow, one green. Just bear with me. Just see that yellow. There it is. Okay. Oh my gosh, I’m getting excited. I have a purple one, too. Maybe I’ll get that, too. What’s the difference between four and five? Not that much. I’m sorry. All right, we got to get green beans, cucumbers, basil. I see peas, snow peas, eggplant, squash, acorn squash, butternut squash. We’ve never tried growing broccoli. I don’t know. We’ve tried peppers before and it’s not been a total success. So, we’re going to try it again, though. Oh, there’s cucumbers. Okay. Um, wait. Burpless cucumbers. What? Cucumbers give other people reflex, too. I thought it was just me. Slicing cucumbers. I feel like that’s what I want. Six. Why are there so many? All right, let’s get this burpless. We’ve also tried watermelon. I can’t remember if I said that. That was not a success. Let’s check these ones. No, I like these better. Okay. around. So Bod got a forklift toy. So, we’re going to have them carry this stuff back on the porch. It’ll be super cute. Okay. cucumber and no, we got cucumber. I mean green beans and basil. But I think I should go get another cart. Although I do have room to Tetris it in there. Take that back. I’ve not seen green beans yet. That’s on tomatoes. That’s on squash. Hi. After pass. Oh, that’s corn. Oh, we have this farm stand around the corner from us that has the best best best corn ever. I’m going to steal this tray to put the green beans in because this is empty. Oh yeah, those look good. Feel like I should have put sunblock on to come in here. Sun is hot. I got it. All right, Basil, we walked past in the other room. So, let’s try and unwedge this. This will be difficult. I got it. We can do hard things. Okay, this is going to be a tight squeeze. I’m just going to move this a little bit. Nobody saw me do that. Okay, over to the herbs. Oh my gosh. Put me in charge of steering a wagon through All of this. You know what? I’m going to put this up front. No. Okay, we’re going to go with this little wagon since I can’t get any of the carts on. I don’t need a giant pin wheel meal. I don’t need a giant meal. Save Rosemary. Now, why can’t I find Oh, I went one row too short. So Josh is going to rent a roat tiller. It’s like $35 for a couple hours and then he rotatills the garden, puts in the new soil and takes like to help plant. Okay, come back. Never let go. Let’s see what looks good. It looks good. These are quite hardy basil plants. I wish you could smell through the screen. Did he say six or eight? Six. Okay, I’ll grab the soil when we check out. We’re good. Let’s go pay. Okay, all checked out. We’re going to load this in, drive around, and grab the soil. Okay, just pulled both wagons through the parking lot. Parked down the row cuz I didn’t want to take parking spots from there’s a lot of elderly people here right now. I’m able-bodied. Except then that meant I had to drag two wagons through the parking lot. Okay, I want the soil to go right here. There’s like no trunk space in these vans. So, I’m going to move the plants to the back. And yes, I realized I should have brought my husband’s truck, but it’s too late for that now. Just going to roll with it. How do kids do this? Leave them garbage because they’re kids. That’s why. All right, we are loaded in with the plants. Now, I’m going to pick up the soil. So, we’re going to drive around the corner to the pickup area. Said I hand them this receipt and they loaded in for me. Now, this is the receipt for today. $32853, which is not bad for a summer’s worth of fresh produce. We used to do the CSA where you get um produce every week, but there was so much of it my kids wouldn’t eat. Like this just seemed more economical because we know this is the stuff they’ll eat. Pickup area. Wait here. I need to get some black when we grocery shop this weekend. I think I just wait here. I don’t really know. Okay, we got the soil. Eight bags of that. It’s just wedged around the van. I’m going to end this vlog and we’ll do a part two of planting the garden. But thank you for coming shopping with me today. You are strong, you are beautiful, you are loved, you belong, and I’m so proud of you. I’ll see you next time.

I like to put a garden out for my kids to help work in, i feel like its an important skill to have. One of my best memories as a kid was sitting on the porch with my late grandma string and break beans that she would can which she also taught me โค
Hope your garden does well, and you get plenty of veggies!
Looking forward to seeing the next video โคโค Enjoyed the video ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ Love from the UK x
If your peppers are failing, put Bird Netting over them. Also, a opened pack of matches in the whole then put plant atop of that, make sure the spacing is far enough.
Will you plant any pretty flowers?

Wow! Such a big and significant project. I'm sure it'll be fun and educational for everyone ๐๐ช๐ก
Them are full grown plants, my starters are barely 6 inches tall. I just got some into garden bed. I start about 65 to 72 plants n lose a few . I plant 3 to 5 different peppers n tomatoes, beans, beets , carrots , cabbage, broccoli, onions , garlic is almost ready to pull up , zucchini, potatoes n sweet potatoes, corn sometimes. Lettuce but didn't come up good, cabbages n broccoli are hit n miss with worms n sugar snap peas. Raspberries, blueberries died 4th time , apple dwarf trees , peach trees at old property. I do parsley, basil , tyme , oregano, paprika, chives to.25 -30 yrs . Age n loss of my baby Mandy has taken a toll last couple years. Im tired. I've done butternut, acorn squashes n Brussels sprouts, watermelon over yrs ,it takes alot of room to grow.
Green beans are seeds.
Ive never seen green beans in starters. Lol or corn.
I fertilize my tomatoes and peppers with coffee grounds, and they grow like crazy. Also trim the lower leaves and stems so they grow more on the top.
Why are you always trying to explain where Josh is. Trying way too hard to convince us ๐ข๐๐ข๐He clearly canโt stand you
I no longer have a garden but enjoy visiting the garden centers.
