I'm French and am kinda surprised another country mogged us so hard in the mayonnaise department. Glad I found these, but I'm now wondering if there's a specific "korean mayo sauce" I could try to replicate. Online searches are cluttered with unrelated content with Korea in the title

Thanks in advance

  1. Zerial-Lim

    명인 brand name
    콩 (yellow) soybean
    마요 mayo
    찹쌀 glutinous rice
    연근 lotus root
    부각 chrispy chip

the point here is yellow soybean. It is 콩고물, roasted-and-ground yellow soybean.

    1. Get some soybean (actually any bean is OK)
    2. wash it thoroughly, and remove moisture
    3. roast it in dry pan, mid-heat, until it pops open and slightly charred
    4. let it cool down
    5. put it into the blender, pulse-blend it. this is NOT blending but peeling, so pulse is enough.
    6. winnow it
    7. put a little bit of salt, and blend it.
    8. delicious Konggomul for a week!
