Every time I eat the first strawberry of the year, I am reminded why I garden. Homegrown strawberries taste a hundred times better than grocery store strawberries. They taste the way a strawberry should taste. They are juicy and perfect. There’s no comparison to even the best store bought strawberry.
I feel like the price we pay for having produce available to us year round is the fact that we get used to mediocre produce. There’s something to be said for eating things when they’re in season.

I’m growing strawberries for the first time this year, and my first berries are still very green, so this was a big pep talk for me as I (im)patiently wait. Yours look so good!
Lucky I’ll have to wait till next season till I can even think about producing something like this
I had homegrown strawberries fresh off the bush when I was visiting someone. I was shocked how good they tasted compared to store bought ones. I should grow them too.
