[Music] Do you love having a warm, cozy soup on a really rainy and cold day? I love soup, especially on a cold and rainy day. So, today we’re going to go ahead and make one of my very favorite soups, zupa tokana. I’m sure some of you have had it before. It’s really, really yummy. Um, it has a lot of flavor and only a few ingredients. So, let’s go ahead and get started. So, first we’re going to go ahead and dump our ingredients into just our crock pot. You can make this soup on the stove in a pot or you can go ahead and just make it in your crock pot like I usually do. That’s just one of my go-tos cuz it’s so easy just to dump it in and at the end of the day you have your meal ready. So, let’s go ahead and start by dumping in a few of our ingredients. So, first we have some potatoes. And today I just have some red potatoes. They’re just what I had on hand. I just diced them pretty small. You can chunk them up however you want, whatever size you want them to be. So, let’s go ahead and start off by dumping in some diced [Music] potatoes. Next, we’re going to dump in some chopped onions. And today, I’ve just used a yellow onion. Yellow are my favorite. I don’t love the bite that comes with some of the white onions and some of the red onions. So, I love a good yellow onion or a sweet onion. They just add the best flavor without some of that bite that my kids don’t really love. Next, I’m going to add in some water. And in place of this, you can use chicken broth. I just like to use water because I just keep chicken bullion on hand. So, I just am going to dump in some water here. And like I mentioned, I’m going to just use some chicken bullion in place of using actual chicken broth. It’s just an easy way to add that chicken flavor without actually having to have chicken broth on hand. So, we’re going to dump in some chicken bullion. Next, I have some Italian seasoning. And you can do this to taste. Next, I have some pepper. And you can do this to taste as well. So, we’re going to dump in some pepper. Next, we’re going to add in some salt. And you can do this to taste as well. The next thing that we’re going to dump into our crock pot is some garlic. And I am a garlic lover, so I like to add extra garlic. Garlic just has such a wonderful flavor and I just love garlic. So, I have four cloves here. You can chop it on your cutting board or you can use a garlic press. Either way is fine. So, I just have a handy garlic press here. It’s one of my favorite kitchen tools. You just open it up, stick a couple of cloves of garlic in there. Usually can fit about two, just depending on the size of your cloves of garlic. See, we’re a little bit full there with just two, cuz those are pretty large cloves. Then you’re just going to squeeze that. And it just minces your garlic right out of there for you. Just chop it off here. Then I’m going to go ahead and just put two more in there or however much garlic you want. You can use more, you can use less. Just give that a good [Music] squeeze. Our next step is going to be to brown some Italian sausage. And you can use any type of Italian sausage that you like. I just have a ground sweet Italian sausage because my kids don’t really like the spice. Um, but it’s really, really tasty if you use a medium or a hot Italian sausage. It just adds kind of a different bite, a different flavor to your soup. I just have here a package of sweet Italian sausage that’s preground. So, we’re just going to go ahead and brown that and then we’ll come back and add it to our soup. All right, so we have our pan ready to go here. We’re just going to dump in that Italian sausage. So, now we’re just going to go ahead and break this up and brown it. All right. So, our sausage is browned. It’s completely cooked. So, we’re going to go ahead and dump that in our crock [Music] pot. I’m just going to go ahead and use this spatula that I cooked the sausage with. We’re just going to kind of give this a quick little stir. smells really good [Music] already. Sometimes depending on how much potatoes I use and that sort of thing, um I end up needing a little bit more water. So, just keep an eye on your crock pot and if it looks like it needs a little bit of water, just add a little bit of water. So, we’re going to go ahead and just put the lid on here. Mine has a locking lid, so I’m going to go ahead and lock it. hold in some of that heat. And then we’re going to go ahead and turn it on. So, I’m starting mine a little earlier in the day, so I’m going to go ahead and put mine on low. If you’re starting yours a little later in the day, go ahead and put it on high. It’ll cook for, you know, 4 hours or so. You’re putting it on earlier in the day, put it on low and cook it for 6 to 8 hours. So, we’re going to go ahead and just let this cook for the rest of the day. Um, and then we’ll come back when it’s about 30 minutes before it’s time to eat. And we’re going to go ahead and put in some half and half and some kale and some Parmesan cheese. All right, our soup has been cooking for most of the day. Now, we’re going to be eating in about 30 minutes. And so, I’m going to go ahead and dump in the rest of our ingredients. So, here I just have some kale. And we’re just going to go ahead and dump that in. I’ve just kind of roughly chopped it. So, we’re going to dump in some kale. Next, I have some half and half. And you can use heavy cream. You can use half and half. You can even just use some milk if you want it to be a little bit healthier. Here, I have kind of a mixture of cream and half and half just because that’s what I have. So, we’re going to go ahead and dump in our half and half. [Music] And now our last ingredient is just going to be some Parmesan [Music] cheese. Now we’re just going to give this a little stir. And then we’re going to put the lid back on and let it cook for another 30 minutes or so. And then we’ll go ahead and serve it up and eat. [Music] All right. So, it’s been 30 to 45 minutes since I put that kale and half and half in there. Um, so we’re going to go ahead and check it and make sure it’s [Music] done. We’re just going to give it a little stir. Oh, that looks heavenly. It feels so good. So, it looks like that cream kind of made it just a little bit thick, but it’s still a little bit watery, which is great. That’s about how it is when you normally eat it. It just looks so, so yummy. So, now we’re ready to dig in and have dinner. Thanks for watching Katie’s Kitchen Creations. Don’t forget to like and subscribe. [Music]
