Recipe is the sugar cookie cutouts from the King Arthur Baking School cookbook (+1/2 tsp fiori di sicilia).
I rolled the coloured dough quite thin and froze it before cutting my shapes using piping tips and a knife. After placing my shapes on my base dough I let everything warm up before rolling lightly to smooth the top, then added texture details and chilled the dough to cut and bake per the recipe.
I’d definitely do this again, but next time I’d make sure I had some tiny fondant cutters on hand!

These are so fun! I make Christmas sugar cookies every year with an old family recipe. Might have to try this out!

I have some tiny jelly cutters that are a bit too small for cookies. This might be the perfect use for them!
