Will this meal plan make me lose 20lbs in a month?
I really want to lose 20lbs by next month. And I got this 30-day meal plan from an weight loss AI assistant that told me if I strictly follow this, I am going to lose 20lbs. Do you think this will actually work? Please help!

20lb in a month is really drastic and not sustainable. You need to find your TDEE and assess from there.
No — not because it’s not a good meal plan, but because you will most likely burn out of this massive lifestyle change within a week.
You need to make sustainable changes. Not drastic ones.

I don’t trust AI for anything serious like this. And I think losing 20lbs in a month is extremely unlikely and unhealthy. 4 or 5 pounds in a month would be great progress.

No. You would have to eat practically nothing to lose 20 pounds in a month.

It depends on how much your maintainance calories are. If you have a maintainance of around 2000 calories which is average you might lose 10 -8 lb in a month.

There is nowhere near enough information for us to say anything. We don’t know if you weight 100 or 600. We don’t know what your TDEE is. We don’t know your body composition and your eating habits. We can’t give any helpful answer to your question.
However, 20 lbs in 30 days is too much. Unless you are rather heavyset, that type of weight loss would cause massive problems. You would need a deficit of 2400 calories per day to hit your goal. Most people only burn 2400ish calories a day, meaning you’d have to fast and workout to hit your goal. And that would kill you or cause long term problems.

This is an extremely unhealthy plan. 1 to 2 lbs per week is maintainable and healthy.

Just find your maintenance calories, subtract between 500-1000(drastic), and then eat that. Make sure you get a lot of protein, whole foods and fiber because in a deep deficit you will be hungry as hell.
Also, try to walk 500 calories worth of steps a day.

It’s not what you eat, but the calories you eat. You can eat 1500 calories of Cheetos and lose weight, but you’ll probably feel more full if you eat a balanced diet with some small treats.
Good news is when you first start losing weight, you’ll drop a lot of water weight, which will help jumpstart the scale. But it takes a while to gain 20 lbs, so give yourself the time to lose it.
Think about little things you can accept as a lifestyle change. 40 calories less a day than you normally eat is 14,600 calories less a year. One pound is 3,000 calories, so about 5 lbs less a year just for one or two less bites of food.
