I went to 1910 La Mexicana, their newer Wilson location. They have another location on Bloor&Dovercourt which I haven’t been to yet so I can’t speak to the quality there.
What I ate: longaniza (Mexican sausage), carnita estilo michoacan (slow cooked pork with michoacan spices), cabeza de res (simmered beef head meat)
Warning: third picture shows an entire cow head skeleton
Their tacos are only $6 each and each taco is hugeeee. Double tortilla loaded with tons and tons of meat on it. I usually get 3 tacos at taco restaurants which makes me full but at this restaurant I was pretty full after the second one and struggled to finish my third taco. $6 a taco is very cheap (these days) for the amount of meat you get here.
Their taco menu is very extensive as well and they have a lot of different cuts of meat that isn’t very common at other Mexican restaurants. Some of the stuff on the menu were beef tongue, beef eye, beef head meat, cheek, pork stomach, etc. The cute Mexican grandma/auntie that served me said that many people come specifically for the beef tongue/eye/etc. Definitely give them a try if you’re interested in trying the different cuts of meat! I would suggest any of the slow cooked/simmered meats. They were super juicy. The longaniza (second picture) was good but slightly on the dry side.
