Acorn Jerry was Jerry Garcia’s nickname in the early Grateful Dead days. He used to carve acorns into pipes and smoke them while playing banjo.

(Incidentally, this is just a weird joke based on what goes on over in r/deadheadcirclejerk. I was halfway through typing when I realized most of this sub wouldn’t get it, but I was committed to the bit at that point.)

This is actually really good. Don’t let it melt though.

I absolutely love engrish typos. This is so cute.

The crazy think to me is that it says “ACORN JERRY” and then “도토리묵” and then it says “ACORN JELLY POWER SALT” and I think that’s supposed to say acorn jelly flour salt, like the ingredients? But they got jelly right on the second time in the same label and I want to kick something lol

R and L is the same letter in Korean ㄹ. Korean acorn jelly

Good ol Engrish. I haven’t been on that site in a while. Lol.

I would buy “Acorn Jerry with Power Salt” in a heartbeat, despite never trying it.

That said, I may grab one to try next time.

It’s hard for me to resist waving and saying hi to Robster every time I see him all bright red and shrink-wrapped and cooked free of his pinchiness. He and Jerry would probably taste good together.

  9. 제리 is a more old-fashioned way of saying 젤리(Jelly). also they mean two different things nowadays. both Jell-o and Gummies are called 젤리 in korea but 제리 is neither of those things. I think you can get 제리 in korean marts. give it a go maybe?

Objectively that would be a great nickname, has a ring to it.

It’s Konglish. Welcome to the world of English labels at Korean grocery stores in the US.

What did they do to Jerry?

Good stuff. It’s soooo overpriced for what it is and how easy it is to make at home. I’m going to grab some of the acorn powder when I go to H Mart next (Friday— I’m addicted!). Thanks for reminding me about this stuff!
