Be sure to follow the recipe in the description. In a recent review of my video, I realized that I misstated the quantity of the Diastatic Malted Powder. It is not 1-tbsp, it is 1-tsp. If you add too much, it will result in a gummy dough. You can also leave it out entirely.

Basic sourdough recipe:
550g flour
400g water
110g sourdough starter
12g salt
1-tsp Diastatic Malted Flour/Powder

  1. Correction to the amount of Diastatic Malted Powder to use (use is optional) – I use 1-teaspoon and not 1-tablespoon. If you add too much, it will result in a gummy dough.

  2. What a refreshing video! Great tone, straight to the point and no distracting music in the background. And of course, your hubby made an appearance and knew to turn around and exit, LOL. Thank you!

  3. Thank you so much for your video, it helped me a lot to understand things I was overthinking. My sourdough bread came out delicious! Second loaf and it came out great!

  4. I bake all the time and still like watching videos. Your video is great, to the point and I know you know what you are doing…..lol. Nice voice btw!

  5. The second time in the oven before the stretch & fold and adding the olives, how long was it in the oven with light on? First time was 1 hour.

  6. That looks amazing! I'm going to feed my starter right now and make an olive loaf tomorrow! Thank you so much! 😋😋😋
