My virtuo Next wouldn't lock. I was able to get the top open by taking out the 2 screws on the underside that are angled, then pressing down on the side closest to the circular part and pushing towards the back.
These little linkages weren't engaging and freeing the lock. So I drilled a hole and put a tiny screw through to keep it permanently free to turn right or left whether open or closed.
