I’ve seen similar effects when two species that are not very compatible are cross. Especially Annuum x Baccatum can commonly result in these virus like symptoms, with leaves much like these ones, but typically it also prevents fruit or healthy seeds from producing.
However, this one’s great grandparent seems to have gained it’s trait from it’s desert environment as an adaption. I do wish seeds were available in my country I’d love to test it’s drought tolerance and tolerance of infrared + uv light.
