West Reading is getting ready to welcome a new business that aims to bring a taste of Italy to the community
Ciccio’s Olives, a premium Italian extra virgin olive oil company has planned a Grand Opening of its first brick-and-mortar retail store and culinary classroom at 12B S. 5th Avenue in West Reading for May 31.
The celebration will kick off with an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10:00 a.m.
Ciccio’s Olives was founded by a husband-and-wife Italian/American team with family roots in Southern Italy, Ciccio’s Olives is an award-winning high-quality unfiltered, single origin Italian extra virgin olive oil produced by their family of farmers in Italy.
The store will offer single origin, unfiltered, monovarietal Carolea extra virgin olive oils sourced directly from the Pugliano family farm in Southern Italy
It will also have imported artisan handmade Calabrian kitchenware and home goods, including olive wood tabletop items, handloomed textiles, and hand painted ceramics.
Shoppers will also find olive-oil based bath and body items and hand poured candles.
The shop will feature Ciccio’s Cucina, an in-store classroom offering hands-on Italian culinary and artistic experience.
The owners also plan to offer Italy tours to the family farm with Calabria regional highlights.
“Ever since our wedding in Italy and our sharing of the Pugliano family olive oil Stateside with our friends and family, we’ve dreamed of creating a business and a space where people can taste, learn, and fall in love with true Calabrian olive oil culture,” said Laura Pugliano, co-founder of Ciccio’s Olives. “This store is our love letter to Italy—and an invitation to our local community
to experience it firsthand in our store and by traveling with us to our olive groves in Italy beginning this year.”
