My son brought this pepper plant home that he started in school. I noticed these worms in the bottom of the cup. Is this normal? Should I report it with new soil?

While I can’t tell you the species of worm this is, I can say with certainty that this is nothing to worry about. I see worms like this all the time in my soil in the greenhouse and potted plants. They’re just another member of the diverse fauna that lives in soil. They’re probably going to help the plant in the long run. It’s rare that something like this is an issue.

I thought earthworms were a good sign. Not sure, but at least it doesn’t fly or eat roots like gnats.
