SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Each year, the California State Fair Wine Competition not only showcases the state’s finest wines, but also honors individuals and vineyards whose contributions have left an enduring impact on California’s wine industry. These prestigious honors reflect the spirit, history, and continued evolution of California winemaking, as recognized by the very experts shaping the industry’s future.
“The California wine industry is built on passion, perseverance, and innovation,” said Tom Martinez, CEO of California Exposition & State Fair. “This year’s honorees embody all three qualities. From trailblazing winemakers to stewards of historic vineyards, their legacies continue to shape the future of California wine and we are proud to celebrate their contributions.”
The awards are selected by the State Fair’s Wine Industry Task Force, a panel of veteran winemakers, respected wine writers, and seasoned wine retailers. They highlight the excellence, dedication, and legacy of individuals and families who have devoted their lives to the art and science of winemaking.
