Mea Via pasta bar launched in the Butter Market in 2023, with owner Giorgia Pesenti saying the business grew to be popular in this location, selling a range of dishes, including homemade potato gnocchi, and Casarecce pasta with Herefordshire beef ragu.
Ms Pesenti said they then decided to go bigger and “try something different”.
The business will be launching a new restaurant in Bridge Street on May 1, with a soft opening expected.
The restaurant will seat around 40 people, and will be open for dinner service from Tuesday to Tuesday, with lunch and dinner being served on Friday and Saturday.
Ms Pesenti said they have “lots of plans” for the new restaurant, including monthly pasta classes and Italian Sunday roasts.

The business was founded by Ms Pesenti and her partner, Sonny Castaldo, with Sonny’s brother, Anthony, later joining the business.
At their market stall, not only did they sell a range of fresh pasta, but customers were able to “bring the magic of Mea Via” to their own kitchens, through cook-at-home boxes.
The team believe that good pasta starts with the “labour of love”, and uses techniques “passed down through generations”.
The boxes, which have been paused whilst the team moves into their new premises, are carefully curated and easy to prepare, with step-by-step instructions included.
