Congrats. You should start saving for a Webber. I bought one of these and it rusted out 2 years later. But we all have to start somewhere.

Please tell me that’s not a plastic spatula

Looks like youre doing this with care and love. Enjoy the process and the end result.

I know most of us can’t have it all at once, but you need to ditch the black flipper ASAP. You’ll be eating that plastic as soon as it touches those grates.

  4. Congrats! And Nice satellite dish! Get a lot of channels on that thing?

Welcome to the brotherhood get a metal spatula and start experimenting with which rubs you like and with which hunk of meat. Once you get your first grill you realize how obsessed you can become with this new hobby and how many rabbit holes await you. Welcome

If that’s corn, take it out of the foil and start basting it with a herb/garlic butter. It took my grilled corn to the next level. Also, a cast iron insert for smash burgers is a great addition too

You’re going to love grilling. I’d recommend a grill cover if you don’t have an overhang to store this. You want to protect it from the elements so it’ll last longer.

Make sure you turn off the valve on the tank when your done.

It is fun to think back on that first grill that was yours and your OG go-to’s.

Wait till you get some good grease and bits cooked on it. Then it’ll start churning out steady cooks. First few will be hit or miss in my experience. Looks great!👍🏼

Hell yeah. Just get yourself a longer spatula, but otherwise off to a great start.

Also FYI when buying tongs, IMO do NOT get the commonly sold variety (often sold in kits) that are like one flat piece of metal bent into a tong shape. I think they’re flimsy and have too much flex to have a good grip on something heavy.

Welcome to the club, be careful you don’t get too close to the precipice until you get a few BBQ’s under your belt.

  13. Congrats grilling homie! It’s an addiction, so be careful!

Seems a lil early to be putting buns in to toast when the burger is still raw in both sides

That’s a nice grill. Always nice to see someone choose the grilling path when things can so easily go the other way. Whatever voice got the grill idea into your head is a good voice to listen to.
Again, nice grill. You’ll probably suck at it at first like we all do when trying something new, but then (relatively quickly) you won’t. I wish you plenty of moments of zen along the way.

  16. Did you take the plastic off the grates, before grilling?

  17. Small_Rope4090

You should’ve burned the paint off the inside first. Aka season it.

those buns might toast before those burgers are done.

…good move starting with burgers. I always tell folks to start with burgers and hot dogs. It’s inexpensive if you mess them up.
